i trying populate formula of distance between 2 points-shown in image below-i want able type equation in 1 cell , drag vertically , horizontally populate matrix. tried $, didn't give desired results. please see image below illustration; it's example. thank in advance.
excel doesn't understand reference x1 , x2. need first type in topmost cell coordinates so:
sqrt((d6-h6)^2+(e6-i6)^2)
then drag down corner of cell containing formula , excel should extrapolate forumla populate rest of cells. also, can click on cells insert them formula instead of typing them in.
as drag down, excel should automatically repeat formula incrementing row number 1 each row drag cursor to:
sqrt((d7-h7)^2+(e7-i7)^2)
sqrt((d8-h8)^2+(e8-i8)^2)
sqrt((d9-h9)^2+(e9-i9)^2)
...
