it happens crawling process of storing cached data, in cached data, search engine looks hyperlinks, may textual or image hyperlinks. after has found one, opens page cache , starts finding links in it. process goes on until there no more links found.
so, in long chain of hyperlinks, of internet included. but, doesn't mean has crawled everything. many new websites left out in this, because of lack of links it. , websites not crawled because not intended discovered.
