when enter jupyter notebook datastax spark tutorial; there's recurring red error status button: 'dead kernel'. so, i'm not able run notebook.
i tried hitting button , select 'restart kernel'; later same error after kernel appears restart itself.
i tried opening terminal window within virtualbox able start spark shell command-line; no /bin directory exists me able able run './bin/spark-shell'.
pwd /root ls /spark-kernel /jupyter ...
(/bin missing)

i seemed able install , startup vm on virtualbox ok; vm comes me; along jupyter notebook.
i'm on mac running osx el capitain v10.11.4 (15e65); , virtual box version 5.0.16 r105871.
somehow vm maybe corrupt? had downloaded ds320-vm-dsa.zip @ 2363833330 bytes. had added vm virtualbox via dbl-clk on *.vbox file after *.zip expansion. have version 5.0.16 r105871 of virtualbox installed on mac osx el capitan.
